The M.A. FORD. 2XDSR2210A is a jobber-length, solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 0.2210 inch (Wire Size 2) diameter and features a 142-degree split point for aggressive penetration and reduced thrust. The AlTiN (ALtima Titanium Nitride) coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. With a regular spiral flute and right-hand cut geometry, the bit delivers consistent chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and precision fabricators working in aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing are the primary users of this tool.
This drill bit is engineered for primary workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups H, M, and S — covering hardened steels, stainless steels, and superalloys including titanium and temperature-resistant alloys. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth drilling in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual setups where straight-shank tooling is required. The 15/64 inch straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet systems. This series is well-suited to aerospace component drilling, medical device machining, and precision part production where tight diameter tolerances are critical.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines accepting straight cylindrical shank tooling in the 15/64 inch range. Intended for cutting hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium, and temperature-resistant superalloys as indicated by ISO material group codes H, M, and S.
This tool should be installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians familiar with carbide tooling handling. Solid carbide bits are brittle — avoid side-loading or using in flexible or worn spindles where runout exceeds acceptable limits for the diameter. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and properly torqued before operation. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external coolant or air blast as applicable to the workpiece material and cutting parameters.
