The M.A. FORD. 2XDSR1850A is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials including titanium and temperature-resistant alloys. It carries a wire size designation of 13, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.1850 inches. The bit features a 142-degree drill point angle, a two-flute regular spiral configuration, and an ALtima coating that incorporates titanium nitride for improved wear resistance and thermal stability. Overall length is 3.1496 inches (80.00 mm) with a flute length of 1.4961 inches (38.00 mm). The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1968 inches in diameter. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and CNC operators working with hard or exotic materials.
The 2XDSR1850A belongs to M.A. FORD. Series 2XDSR, a line engineered for cutting titanium (ISO material code S) and heat-resistant superalloys (ISO material code M and H). It is suited for both manual drill press work and CNC machining center applications where consistent hole tolerances in difficult workpiece materials are required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and right-hand spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation in these typically stringy or gummy materials. Maximum drilling depth is 30.00 mm (1.181 inches). Coolant-through capability is not included in this design.
Designed for drilling titanium and temperature-resistant alloys as identified by ISO workpiece material codes H, M, and S. Fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.1968-inch (5.00 mm) straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 2XDSR line covering the 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch decimal inch size range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide tooling practices. Power down and lock out spindle equipment before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or used with excessive runout - verify tool holding concentricity before operation. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for feeds, speeds, and workholding when machining titanium or superalloys.
