The M.A. FORD 2XDSR1181A is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 3.00 mm (0.1181 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 63.00 mm (2.4803 inches) and features a 142-degree split point for accurate entry and reduced walking. The ALTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) finish improves heat resistance and tool life in abrasive cutting applications. A regular spiral flute with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports consistent chip evacuation. This bit is built for machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators working in production and job shop environments.
The 2XDSR1181A is engineered for drilling in titanium, temperature-resistant alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials classified under workpiece material codes H, M, and S. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. With a flute length of 24.00 mm (0.9449 inches) and a maximum drilling depth of 19.00 mm, it is suited for through-holes and blind holes in close-tolerance machining work. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. This bit is sold individually and is appropriate for manual drill presses, machining centers, and CNC lathes running appropriate feeds and speeds for carbide tooling.
Designed for use in titanium and temperature-resistant alloys (workpiece material codes H, M, and S). Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch) shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and workpiece are secured before operation. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used at feeds or speeds outside the manufacturer-recommended range for the workpiece material. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or mist may be applied as appropriate for the application.
