The M.A. FORD. 2XDSR0938A is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and finished with an ALtima coating, this bit measures 3/32 inch (0.0938 inches) in diameter with a 2-inch overall length and a 1-inch flute length. The 142-degree drill point angle is engineered for accurate entry and reduced thrust in hard and exotic workpiece materials. Two spiral flutes in a regular spiral configuration clear chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and precision fabricators working with difficult materials.
The 2XDSR0938A is rated for primary workpiece materials including titanium and temperature alloys, identified under material codes H, M, and S. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports depth drilling up to 0.75 inches. The Series 2XDSR line targets high-performance cutting applications where standard HSS tooling falls short. This bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held precision drilling equipment used in aerospace, medical device fabrication, and industrial manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in high-performance drilling applications involving titanium and temperature alloys (material codes H, M, S). Part of the M.A. FORD. Series 2XDSR, covering drill bit sizes in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch decimal range.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and fixturing requirements for carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without proper setup, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing tooling.
