The M.A. FORD. 2XDCS2165A is a jobber-length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. With a 5.5 mm (0.2165 inch) diameter and a 142-degree drill point angle, it is engineered to cut cleanly through difficult workpiece materials including titanium alloys, stainless steel, and other high-temp alloys. The ALtima coating - a titanium nitride-based finish - extends tool life and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. A straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm (0.2362 inch) in diameter seats reliably in standard drill chucks and collet holders. This bit is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals working to tight tolerances in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill bit targets applications in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing where temperature-resistant alloys (workpiece material codes H, M, and S) demand premium tooling. The 2-flute spiral design with regular spiral type promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole entry cuts up to 20 mm maximum drilling depth. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant setups, supporting higher feed rates and longer tool life in production environments. It is manufactured to DIN 6537K specification under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality standards.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped for straight-cylindrical shank tooling. Primary workpiece materials include high-temp alloys, stainless steels, and cast materials corresponding to material codes H, M, and S per DIN classification. Fits standard 6 mm collets and compatible chuck systems. Diameter tolerance held to +0.000 to -0.012 mm for precision fitment.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, de-energized state. Ensure the straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and clamped to the correct torque specification for the collet or chuck system in use per the machine manufacturer's guidelines. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the spindle system before operating. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use - carbide tooling is brittle and should not be forced into interrupted cuts without verifying suitability.
