The M.A. FORD. 2XDCS1299A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 3.30 mm (0.1299 inch) diameter, a 142-degree split point, and an ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that extends tool life and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. The overall length is 63.00 mm (2.48 inches), with a 22.00 mm (0.87 inch) flute length and a 4.00 mm (0.16 inch) straight-cylindrical shank. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this drill suitable for deep-hole operations where heat management is critical. It is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This drill is optimized for primary workpiece materials classified under temperature-resistant alloys, as indicated by material codes H, M, and S. Typical applications include drilling titanium alloys, stainless steels, and other high-strength materials where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 18.00 mm (0.71 inch) make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole operations in aerospace, medical, and energy-sector part production where close-tolerance results are required.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling solution for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank in the 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm drill diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in a collet or chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Engage coolant-through supply before the drill contacts the workpiece to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate. Do not use this drill to hand-feed at excessive rates; carbide tooling requires consistent, controlled feed and speed parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
