The M.A. FORD 2XDCR2677A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The drill features a 6.80 mm (0.2677 inch) diameter, a 142-degree split point, and an ALtima (AlTiN) titanium nitride coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-heat cutting conditions. With a right-hand cut, regular spiral flute geometry, and coolant-through capability, this drill is built for production environments where consistent hole quality and cycle time matter. Overall length is 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 8 mm (0.3150 inches) in diameter. It is sold individually.
This drill is intended for cutting steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys - workpiece material codes H, M, and S. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design make it well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production lines where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The 48.00 mm (1.8898 inch) flute length supports a maximum recommended drilling depth of 38.00 mm. Machinists and tooling professionals in aerospace, oil and gas, and precision manufacturing will find this drill fits standard production tooling setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with straight-shank toolholders accepting an 8 mm (0.3150 inch) shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys (material codes H, M, S). Part of the M.A. FORD Series 2XDCR high-performance carbide drill line in the 6.00 to 7.00 mm diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the straight shank in a properly sized collet or drill chuck rated for the spindle speed and feed rate required by the workpiece material. Ensure coolant-through supply lines are connected and flowing before initiating the cut, as the drill is designed to rely on internal coolant for chip evacuation and thermal control. Do not exceed the 38.00 mm maximum recommended drilling depth without retracting to clear chips.
