The M.A. FORD. 2XDCR1719A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries an 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch) diameter and a 142-degree split-point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard or abrasive workpiece surfaces. The ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) dual coating extends tool life by resisting heat and wear. A straight-cylindrical shank measuring 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. With an overall length of 3.230 inches and a 1.500-inch flute length, it is suited for precision drilling operations where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required.
This drill is intended for machining temperature-resistant alloys, stainless steels, and other hard-to-machine materials classified under workpiece material codes H, M, and S. It is well-suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual machine tools in production and job-shop environments. The coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control when used with through-spindle or high-pressure coolant systems. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth holes up to 1.200 inches in a single pass without peck drilling in most applications.
Designed for use in drilling temperature-resistant alloys and hard materials coded H, M, and S per the Series 2XDCR application classification. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collets accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling and CNC or manual machine tool operation. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Enable through-spindle or external coolant flow prior to cutting when the coolant-through feature is used. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid interrupted cuts, side loading, or excessive feed rates that can cause chipping or fracture.
