The M.A. FORD 2XDCL3661A is a taper length solid carbide drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 2XDCL specifications, this bit measures 9.3 mm (0.3661 inches) in diameter with a 142-degree split point, a spiral flute, and a TiN coating that extends surface hardness and tool life. Overall length is 136 mm with an 85 mm flute length, supporting a maximum drilling depth of 68 mm. The straight cylindrical shank measures 10 mm in diameter. Coolant-through capability makes this bit well-suited for high-speed, deep-hole operations where chip evacuation and heat management are critical.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools where precision boring is required. It is rated for use in cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, alloy steel, and tool steel. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral type support consistent chip removal across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and production operators working in metalworking, aerospace, and fabrication environments are the primary users of this tooling.
Rated for drilling cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. Designed as an OEM-style taper length drill in the 2XDCL series for use with standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 10 mm shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setups and machine tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify the collet or chuck is rated for the 10 mm shank diameter and that coolant lines are properly connected if using the through-coolant feature. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds based on workpiece material.
