The M.A. FORD. 2XDCL1875A is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Built to a 142-degree point angle, it delivers clean entry and reduced thrust in hard materials. The 3/16 inch diameter straight shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Coolant-through construction supports high-speed machining setups where heat management is critical. At 3-15/16 inches overall length with a 1-3/4 inch spiral flute, this bit suits depth applications beyond what jobber-length drills can reach. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in cast iron, carbon steel, tool steel, titanium, and general alloy steels. Its 7xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for intermediate-depth holes where a standard jobber bit falls short but a deep-hole drill is not required. The coated finish supports wear resistance in production environments. Typical install scenarios include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mill setups where tight diameter tolerances are required. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.00000 to -0.00047 inches, making it suitable for close-fit hole applications.
Designed for use in cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel applications. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and workpiece are fully secured before drilling. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in setups with excessive runout or vibration, as chipping or breakage may result. Always confirm coolant flow is active before engaging the cut when using the through-coolant feature.
