The M.A. FORD. 2XDCL1590A is a taper length solid carbide drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in demanding industrial and machining applications. Sized at 0.1590 inches (wire size 21), it features a 142-degree point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry and reduced thrust in hard materials. The spiral flute geometry with a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper cuts. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery to the cutting zone, extending tool life in high-speed or production drilling. This bit is designed for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working in job shop or manufacturing environments.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. The straight shank with a 0.1875-inch diameter fits standard collets and drill chucks. The 3/16-inch shank diameter allows use in common toolholding systems found on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. With a maximum drilling depth of 1.0000 inch and an overall length of 3-15/16 inches, it covers typical taper-length reach requirements in production and repair machining scenarios.
Designed for use in materials including cast iron, titanium, carbon steel, steel, and tool steel. Compatible with standard straight-shank toolholding systems accepting a 0.1875-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with cutting tool setup and runout requirements. Secure the straight shank fully in the collet or drill chuck to the recommended grip length before operation. Verify spindle runout and toolholder concentricity before use, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and can cause premature breakage. Always disengage spindle power and confirm the machine is in a safe state before changing or inspecting tooling.
