The M.A. FORD. 27912510B is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. With a 0.125-inch mill diameter and a 4-flute configuration, this single-end tool delivers efficient material removal and smooth finishes in tight geometries. The ALtima Blaze coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A variable helix design with 35 and 38 degree angles reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during cutting, making this tool well suited for precision contouring, profiling, and finishing passes. It is a standard-length tool in the Series 279 lineup.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where fine detail work and contour milling are required. The 0.125-inch ball nose radius enables accurate radius generation in slots, pockets, and 3D surface profiles. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe lockout state. The 1/8-inch shank requires a properly sized collet or toolholder torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout and may fracture. Follow your machine tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
