The M.A. FORD 278L37508B is a solid carbide corner radius end mill head engineered for high-performance milling applications. With 5 flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this end mill head is designed to deliver clean, consistent material removal in demanding machining environments. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish and extending tool life. A spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation. The 1.625-inch length of cut supports deeper passes without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators working in aerospace, mold making, and precision manufacturing will find this head suited to tight-tolerance work.
This end mill head is used in CNC milling operations where corner radius profiles are required to reduce stress concentrations at workpiece corners or to produce blended radii on complex geometries. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials, depending on feeds, speeds, and setup. The right-hand flute direction and spiral geometry make it compatible with standard right-hand spindle configurations found in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a replacement-style corner radius end mill head for use in compatible modular end mill systems accepting this head geometry and shank interface. Verify shank compatibility with your toolholder system before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing any end mill head. Use the appropriate torque wrench and interface tools specified by the toolholder system manufacturer — do not overtighten or use improvised tools that may damage the seating surface. Inspect the head seating interface for chips or debris before assembly to maintain runout accuracy.
