The M.A. FORD. 27850000B is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle, making it well suited for high-efficiency material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The AlCrN coating provides heat and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and dry cutting conditions. With five flutes and a micrograin carbide substrate, this end mill delivers a strong balance of rigidity and edge retention. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a right-hand flute direction and centercutting capability, allowing it to plunge as well as mill.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The variable index flute spacing helps reduce chatter and vibration during cuts, making it a practical choice for finishing passes and tight-tolerance work. It is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with alloy steels, stainless steel, hardened materials, and similar workpiece materials where coating performance and edge stability are priorities.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, compatible with 1/2 inch ER collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks commonly used in CNC and manual milling setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 1/2 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate clamping depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify spindle runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tools. Always set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut.
