The M.A. FORD 27837520B is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and five helical flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The cutting geometry uses a variable index design to reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. An AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication machining environments. This end mill is single-end, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute, ground from micrograin carbide stock for edge consistency.
This tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. The 3/8 inch shank diameter matches standard ER collet and end mill holder tooling. The 40-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation in steels, stainless alloys, and hardened materials where the AlCrN coating adds thermal stability. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Standard length classification makes it a direct fit for general-purpose and production milling applications in job shops and manufacturing environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention system to the machine manufacturer specification before spindle engagement. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended depth-of-cut or feed rates for the workpiece material and coating type.
