The M.A. FORD. 27837500B is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/8-inch cutting diameter and 5 flutes, this single-end tool delivers smooth chip evacuation and fine surface finishes at higher feed rates. The 40-degree helix angle improves cutting efficiency in a range of materials. An AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating adds heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention that standard carbide grades cannot match. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for high-speed milling of ferrous and hardened materials in both production and job-shop environments. The variable index geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration, making it effective in side milling, slotting, and finishing passes. The 1/2-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for standard-depth pocketing and profiling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and end mill holders commonly found in most machine tool setups.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or direct-fit solid carbide end mill for use in 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and compatible toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the toolholder before torquing set screws or collet nuts to the toolholder specification. Inspect the AlCrN coating and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds.
