The M.A. FORD 277L2500B is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. With a 1/4 inch mill diameter and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, this long-reach tool handles deep slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where standard-length tools fall short. The variable helix geometry at 38/41 degrees reduces chatter and harmonics during aggressive cuts. An AlCrN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hard materials. Micrograin carbide construction supports high feed rates and tight tolerances. This end mill is single-end and center-cutting, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional side milling.
The 277L2500B suits CNC machining centers and manual mills used in tool and die, mold making, aerospace component work, and general precision manufacturing. The long length of cut range of 1.25 to 1.50 inches makes it appropriate for deep pocket work and tall-wall profiles. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for typical spindle configurations. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments will find this tool well suited to hardened steels and other demanding materials where coating performance and carbide grade matter.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept 1/4 inch straight shank toolholders, collet chucks, or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing end mills. Seat the shank fully and evenly into the toolholder to the minimum recommended engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use, and do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the material being cut.
