The M.A. FORD. 27229530 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. Built to a 7.5 mm (0.2953 inch) diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.006/+0.012 mm, it delivers consistent, accurate finished bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight flute geometry suits materials that cut cleanly without the tendency to grab, and the uncoated carbide provides a sharp, stable cutting edge. Overall length is 3-1/4 inches (89 mm) with a 1-1/8 inch (28.50 mm) flute length. Machinists and tool-room operators install this reamer in a drill press, CNC machining center, or lathe using a standard straight-shank chuck or collet holder.
This reamer is suited for light to medium production reaming operations where hole diameter accuracy and surface finish are critical. The 6-flute configuration distributes cutting load evenly, making it appropriate for through-holes and blind-hole finishing passes in general machining applications. The straight shank provides broad compatibility with standard collet systems and drill chucks. It is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 272 line of solid carbide chucking reamers, which targets applications demanding tight dimensional control in the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm diameter range.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and lathes equipped with straight-shank collet or chuck toolholding systems accepting a 7.5 mm shank diameter.
This reamer is installed by a machinist or tool-room operator and should be secured firmly in a matched collet or drill chuck before use. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or inspecting the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the material being reamed, as solid carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and side loading.
