The M.A. FORD. 27218200 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built to wire size 14 with a decimal diameter of 0.1820 inches, this reamer holds a tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0003 inches, making it suited for tight-tolerance bore finishing. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent material removal. With an overall length of 2.75 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches, this compact reamer fits standard drill chucks and collet holders used in CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses.
This reamer is intended for professional machinists and toolroom technicians working on close-tolerance holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The four-flute straight design suits through-hole and short blind-hole reaming where chip evacuation is manageable. The straight shank allows direct mounting in drill chucks or precision collets without adapters. It carries no coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is appropriate for most setups. Typical applications include production machining, jig boring, and fixture work where diameter consistency is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chucking reamer for standard drill chucks, ER collets, and precision collet holders accepting straight-shank tooling in the 0.1820-inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck, ensuring runout is minimized before operation. Power down the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing the reamer. Apply appropriate cutting fluid externally during reaming, as this tool does not have coolant-through capability. Avoid using this reamer as a drill — it is designed exclusively for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes at or near final diameter.
