The M.A. FORD 27216600 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision holes to tight tolerances in metal workpieces. Built to wire size 19, it cuts a nominal diameter of 0.1660 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it suitable for applications where bore accuracy and surface finish are critical. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent stock removal. With an overall length of 2.75 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches, this reamer fits standard chuck-style toolholders used on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual lathes.
This reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where holes must meet close dimensional tolerances. The straight shank allows direct clamping in drill chucks or collet holders without special adapters. Four flutes distribute cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and improving finish quality. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where solid carbide tooling is preferred for hardness and wear resistance. The uncoated finish is standard for applications where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in standard chuck and collet toolholding systems on drill presses, manual lathes, and CNC machining centers where a straight shank reamer in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range is specified.
This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with reaming procedures and machine tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation, and verify that the machine spindle is powered down and at a complete stop before tooling changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for solid carbide tooling in the material being machined.
