The M.A. FORD. 27215940 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. Built to Series 272 standards, it features a 4.05 mm (0.1594 inch) cutting diameter with a diameter tolerance of +0.005 to +0.010 mm, making it well suited for close-tolerance bore work. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent material removal. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 7/8-inch flute length, this compact reamer fits tight workpiece geometries. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators requiring repeatable dimensional accuracy.
This chucking reamer is used in metalworking and precision machining applications where final bore size and surface finish are critical. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks, collets, and floating holders. With four flutes and a bright uncoated carbide construction, it performs effectively in non-coolant-through setups on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where chip evacuation is manageable and cutting speeds are controlled to protect the carbide edge.

Do not exceed recommended cutting speeds for carbide tooling, as excessive heat or interrupted cuts can cause chipping or premature edge failure.
