The M.A. FORD. 27208250 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and composite workpieces. With a reamer diameter of 0.0825 inches and a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, this tool produces accurate, smooth bores in applications where dimensional control is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in a standard chuck or collet. Four straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide clean, consistent stock removal. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is suited to dry cutting or light lubrication. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual lathes where small-diameter bore accuracy is required.
This reamer is built for small-diameter through-hole and blind-hole finishing operations in precision machining environments. It is part of the M.A. FORD. Series 272 line and falls within the 0.0500 to 0.0999 inch diameter range classification. Typical applications include instrument components, hydraulic bodies, and precision fixture work where undersized or reamed-to-tolerance bores are specified. No coolant-through capability means it is intended for surface-applied cutting fluid or dry cutting setups. Right-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation.
Designed as a Series 272 OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for precision small-diameter hole finishing. Compatible with any machine spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the corresponding collet or chuck size.
A qualified machinist should install this reamer with the spindle fully stopped and the workpiece securely fixtured. Ensure the shank is fully seated and centered in the collet or chuck before applying torque to avoid runout. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid to the reaming zone unless a dry-cut process has been validated for the workpiece material. Inspect the reamer for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fracture under side-loading or interrupted cuts.
