The M.A. FORD 27208070 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machining applications. Built to Series 272 standards, it features a 2.05mm diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.004 to +0.008 mm, making it suitable for applications where bore accuracy is critical. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction deliver clean, controlled material removal. With a 44.00mm overall length and a 12.50mm flute length, this reamer is sized for small-bore work in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathe operations. Machinists and tooling specialists are the primary users.
This reamer is well-suited for precision finishing of small-diameter holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials across general metalworking, mold and die, aerospace component, and medical device manufacturing environments. The bright, uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use in a range of cutting fluids and dry cutting conditions. It is packaged as a single unit and ordered in single-unit increments, making it practical for prototype work as well as production tooling inventories.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank chuck and collet toolholders accepting a 2.05mm diameter straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a compatible collet or drill chuck to minimize runout. Always verify bore alignment and starting hole size prior to reaming to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
