The M.A. FORD 27207900A is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.0790 inches and a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, this tool delivers tight, repeatable bore sizing on small-diameter holes. The 4-flute, straight-flute geometry with right-hand cutting direction provides clean material removal and consistent surface finish. An ALtima coating improves wear resistance and tool life in demanding materials. At 1.75 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch flute length and a 0.0730-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this reamer is suited for close-tolerance work in compact setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this Series 272 reamer for production and maintenance work where hole geometry is critical.
This reamer is applied in precision machining environments where final bore diameter must meet close tolerances on small holes. It is commonly used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills for finishing pre-drilled or bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in collet chucks or drill chucks without modification. This is a modified standard configuration and is designated non-returnable and non-cancelable by the manufacturer.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 0.0730-inch straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for precision hole-finishing operations in metalworking setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming operations and cutting tool safety. Secure the shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before use and verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not use this reamer as a drill; the hole must be pre-drilled or bored to the appropriate undersize before reaming.
