The M.A. FORD 27207700 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built to a 0.077-inch diameter with a straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction, this reamer holds a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches, making it well suited for work where bore accuracy is critical. The straight cylindrical shank allows straightforward mounting in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With an overall length of 1.75 inches and a flute length of 0.5 inches, this is a compact tool intended for short-reach reaming in production or toolroom environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This chucking reamer fits reaming operations on small-diameter bores in the 0.050 to 0.099-inch range. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where a chucked straight-shank tool is the standard setup. The 4-flute straight configuration suits most ferrous and non-ferrous materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the primary objectives. The uncoated solid carbide construction provides good wear resistance without the added cost of a surface coating, making it a practical choice for general-purpose precision reaming.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for small-bore precision reaming applications. Part of the M.A. FORD Series 272 line of chucking reamers in the 0.050 to 0.099-inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming operations and toolholder setup. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the machine spindle is powered down completely before mounting or removing the reamer. Use a properly sized collet or drill chuck that matches the straight shank diameter to avoid runout. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended feeds and speeds for the workpiece material, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading.
