The M.A. FORD 27206300T is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Part of the Series 272 lineup, it features a 1.60mm (0.0630 inch) cutting diameter with a reamer diameter tolerance of +0.004 to +0.008mm, making it suited for tight-tolerance bore work. The 4-flute, straight-flute geometry combined with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating supports accurate sizing and extended tool life in production environments. With a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly in standard chucks or collets. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision manufacturing shops working in metals and engineered materials.
This chucking reamer is intended for finish reaming operations where close hole tolerances are required. Its compact 38.00mm overall length and 9.50mm flute length make it appropriate for shallow-hole finishing in small-diameter bores. Right-hand cutting direction with right-hand spiral aligns with conventional machine spindle rotation. Coolant-through capability is not included. This tool is classified as a modified standard item and is non-returnable and non-cancelable once ordered.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes equipped with standard chuck or collet toolholding systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 1.60mm diameter class.
This reamer is installed by machinists in standard chuck or collet holders; ensure the shank is fully seated and the holder is properly torqued per the machine manufacturer specifications before operation. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and confirm the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Pre-drill or bore the hole to the appropriate undersize before finish reaming to avoid overloading the flutes. Do not reverse spindle rotation during retraction, as this can damage the cutting edges.
