The M.A. FORD 27203200 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance applications. Sized to wire gauge 67 with a decimal diameter of 0.0320 inches, this reamer delivers a finished bore within a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0003 inches. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cut make it well suited for reaming through softer workpiece materials where chip evacuation is straightforward. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.25-inch flute length, it is built for short-reach, small-diameter work. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes using a standard straight-shank chuck.
This chucking reamer fits into production and job-shop environments where small-diameter holes require close dimensional control. The 0.0320-inch diameter targets very fine bore sizes in the sub-0.05-inch range, making it applicable to instrument components, precision fixtures, and small mechanical assemblies. The 4-flute configuration balances cutting stability with chip clearance at this diameter. The uncoated solid carbide construction performs in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where wear resistance and rigidity at small diameters are required.
Designed as an OEM-style straight-shank chucking reamer compatible with standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders that accept straight-shank tooling at the sub-0.05-inch diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die technicians. Power down the machine spindle and confirm zero-energy state before mounting or removing the reamer. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck or collet to minimize runout, which is critical at this small diameter. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and avoid excessive feed rates that could deflect or fracture the carbide at this diameter.
