The M.A. FORD. 22935940 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It features a 150-degree split point, a three-flute parabolic geometry, and a web-thinned tapered web to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. The bit measures 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) in diameter with a 4-1/4 inch overall length and a 2-3/4 inch flute length. A bright, uncoated finish is standard, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks. This bit is manufactured to DIN 6537 L standards and produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified conditions.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling applications in non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar N- and O-category workpiece materials. The parabolic flute profile supports a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD, making it effective in deeper holes where chip buildup is a concern. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 2-1/16 inches. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment where solid carbide tooling is specified.
Designed as a Series 229 solid carbide jobber drill for use in non-ferrous metal drilling applications (primary workpiece material codes N and O). Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 23/64 inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool and die technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel; avoid side loading, interrupted cuts, or hard impacts that can cause chipping or fracture. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerances before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear and can break carbide tooling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material and hole depth.
