The M.A. FORD. 22924410 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It carries a 6.2 mm (0.2441 inch) diameter with a 150-degree drill point angle and a parabolic, 3-flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. With an overall length of 91 mm and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 8 mm in diameter, this bit seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. It meets DIN 6537 L specifications and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing standards. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling operators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drilling operations targeting non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials (primary workpiece material code N and O). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute form make it well matched to moderate-depth holes where chip packing is a common concern. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces entry force and improves centering at the drill point. It is offered as a single-piece unit within Series 229 of the M.A. FORD. product line.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses targeting non-ferrous metals; compatible with standard toolholding systems accepting an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for applications falling within the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm drill bit size range per DIN 6537 L classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and undamaged before inserting the shank. Confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance after chucking, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading from misalignment. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 43 mm in a single pass without a peck-drilling cycle to clear chips.
