The M.A. FORD 22915900 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Built to Series 229 specifications, it carries a No. 21 wire size designation with a decimal diameter of 0.1590 inches and an overall length of 2.5 inches. The 150-degree split point reduces entry force and walking on initiation, while the parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. The bright uncoated finish is well suited for non-ferrous applications where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a primary concern. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and metalworking tradespeople install this bit in standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders alike.
This drill bit is intended for use in non-ferrous metal applications, including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials designated under primary workpiece material code N and O. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1590 inches diameter fits standard keyless and keyed drill chucks without adapters. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.03125 inches make it practical for through-hole and blind-hole work in light plate and sheet stock. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for applications requiring a No. 21 wire size, 0.1590-inch diameter solid carbide jobber drill bit with a straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with drilling feeds, speeds, and workholding for carbide tooling. Ensure the drill chuck or collet is clean and properly tightened before operation to prevent runout that can chip carbide. Do not use in ferrous materials outside the specified primary workpiece material range, as this may cause premature tool failure. Eye protection and appropriate workpiece clamping are required during use.
