The M.A. FORD 22913390 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. It measures 3.4 mm (0.1339 inches) in diameter with a 150-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces walking at entry. The bright uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and dimensional accuracy in demanding production environments. With an overall length of 66 mm and a straight-cylindrical shank, this bit seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet systems. It is installed by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC and manual drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for drilling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials coded N and O under standard workpiece classification. The parabolic flute with web-thinned tip design reduces thrust and improves chip flow, making it a practical choice for through-hole and blind-hole work at moderate-to-high spindle speeds. It conforms to DIN 6537 L and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing standards, making it appropriate for shops requiring traceable tooling specifications.
Designed as a DIN 6537 L Series 229 jobber length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses configured for 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the collet or chuck is clean and undamaged before seating the shank to maintain runout tolerances. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 23 mm per pass without retracting to clear chips. Refer to the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting spindle speed and feed rate for solid carbide tooling.
