The M.A. FORD. 22911300 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in non-ferrous metals and other demanding materials. It carries a wire gauge size of No. 33, equal to 0.1130 inches in diameter, and features a 150-degree point angle suited for reduced thrust and improved hole entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the web-thinned, tapered web configuration minimizes cutting resistance. Overall length is 2.25 inches, with a flute length of 1.25 inches and a maximum drilling depth of 0.9375 inches. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the carbide substrate at its full hardness. This bit is built to DIN 6537 L standards and manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification.
This drill bit is intended for production and maintenance applications where tight hole tolerances and clean entry in non-ferrous workpieces are required. Primary workpiece material classifications include non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapter hardware, making it compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools used in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance operations. The 3-flute parabolic design at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes this bit well suited for applications demanding chip control in deeper holes.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and power drill applications targeting non-ferrous metal workpieces. Primary workpiece material codes N and O are supported per Series 229 application guidelines.
This bit should be installed and operated by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck to the recommended grip depth before operation. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading or impact that can cause chipping or fracture. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before initiating a cut; do not run dry in materials that require lubrication or coolant flood.
