The M.A. FORD 22910650 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 36, with a decimal diameter of 0.1065 inches. It features a 150-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces thrust during penetration. The bright uncoated finish preserves tight dimensional tolerances of 0.0001 to 0.0004 inches. With a 3-flute design and web-thinned tapered web, this bit is engineered for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals. It carries DIN 6537 L compliance and is manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certified processes. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators are the primary users of this size class.
This bit is suited for drilling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials where clean entry and accurate hole sizing are critical. The parabolic flute with 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 15/16 inches makes it appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses in production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1065 inches diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Its compact 2.25-inch overall length is consistent with jobber-series tooling standards under Series 229.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill bit for CNC machining centers and drill presses requiring a No. 36 wire gauge diameter in solid carbide, per Series 229 tooling specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before engaging the workpiece. Power down the machine and lock out energy sources before changing tooling. Do not use this bit on ferrous metals or hardened steels, as the bright uncoated carbide substrate is optimized for non-ferrous workpiece materials.
