The M.A. FORD 22909950 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit in wire gauge size 39, with a decimal diameter of 0.0995 inches. The bit features a 150-degree drill point angle and a 3-flute spiral design optimized for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous metals. At 2.25 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank, it delivers precise, consistent hole geometry in tight tolerances. The bright, uncoated finish and regular spiral type make this bit well-suited for applications where chip evacuation and dimensional accuracy are critical. It conforms to DIN 6537 L and is produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality standards.
This drill bit is intended for machining non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The 3-flute geometry improves chip removal rates compared to standard 2-flute designs, reducing heat buildup and improving cycle times in production environments. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.9375 inches, it is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual operations where consistent hole quality is required. It is sold individually and is a fit for shops that require small-diameter precision tooling for close-tolerance work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other rotary drilling setups that accept straight-cylindrical shank tooling. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (Material Code N, O).
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with small-diameter carbide bit handling. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation — carbide bits are brittle and can fracture if run with runout or improper clamping. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before starting the cut. Do not use on hardened ferrous materials, as this bit is rated for non-ferrous applications only.
