The M.A. FORD. 22605900 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. With a 0.0591 inch (1.50 mm) diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle, this short-length bit delivers accurate hole entry and consistent performance in tight-tolerance applications. The bright/uncoated solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance suited for hard or abrasive workpiece materials. Overall length is 1.2598 inches (32.00 mm), making it well suited for close-clearance drilling setups. Machinists, toolmakers, and precision maintenance technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This drill bit is intended for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. The screw machine (stub) length format reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where shorter cutting tools are preferred. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. A flute-to-diameter ratio of 3xD and a parallel web configuration with web thinning contribute to efficient cutting action at small diameters. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard collets and drill chucks.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.0590 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where screw machine length carbide drills are specified for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel workpieces.
This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians using standard collet chucks or keyless drill chucks rated for the shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing the bit. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production drilling when working at this diameter to avoid bit breakage. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for solid carbide tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
