The M.A. FORD 22429920 is a jobber length drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in demanding materials including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous metals. Built from solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for production drilling and precision work. The 118-degree faceted point with web thinning reduces entry force and improves centering on hard materials. With an overall length of 117 mm and a spiral flute running 75 mm, it handles chip evacuation efficiently across typical jobber-depth holes. A straight-cylindrical shank at 0.3000 inches seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders.
This bit is well suited for metalworking applications in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where a reliable general-purpose carbide drill is required. The regular spiral geometry and 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It conforms to DIN 338 specification, making it a compatible profile for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a 0.3000-inch shank is accepted. Right-hand cut orientation is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed as a DIN 338 jobber length replacement drill bit suitable for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel workpieces across general-purpose machining applications.
This drill bit is intended for installation by machinists, tool and die technicians, or qualified maintenance personnel. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify that the straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and clamped securely in the chuck or collet before operation. Do not exceed recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material to avoid carbide fracture.
