The M.A. FORD 22412990 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in a wide range of materials. It features a 0.1299-inch (3.30 mm) diameter with a 118-degree facet point and a bright, uncoated finish. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the web-thinned, tapered web construction reduces entry resistance. With an overall length of 2.5591 inches (65.00 mm) and a flute length of 1.4173 inches (36.00 mm), this bit is sized for standard jobber-drill applications in machining and fabrication environments.
This drill bit is suited for use in steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials, making it appropriate for machine shops, maintenance operations, and light manufacturing. It is compatible with standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools accepting a straight cylindrical shank. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports typical through-hole and blind-hole drilling tasks. It is well-suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with metal substrates on a daily basis.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production drill bit conforming to DIN 338 standards, compatible with any machine or hand tool accepting a 0.1299-inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and P covering steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with proper speeds and feeds for carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without adequate support, or dropping the tool. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing tooling.
