The M.A. FORD. 22407480 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 118-degree faceted point, a bright uncoated finish, and a web-thinned tapered web for reduced thrust at entry. The bit measures 0.0748 inches in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank of the same diameter. Overall length is 46.00 mm with a 22.00 mm flute length. Built to DIN 338 specification and manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification, this drill is suited for machinists and tooling professionals working in high-accuracy production or maintenance environments.
This drill bit is intended for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. Its compact diameter and jobber-length format make it appropriate for tight-tolerance drilling operations in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and MRO settings. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry promotes consistent chip evacuation across the supported workpiece material range. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery and is best applied with external flood or mist cooling when cutting stainless or harder steel alloys.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style jobber drill suitable for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.0748-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel workpieces per Series 224 material group ratings K, M, N, and P.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and tooling technicians using standard drill chucks or collet holders on CNC machines, drill presses, or hand-held drilling equipment. Secure shank engagement and runout verification are recommended before operation. Because this bit does not support coolant-through delivery, apply adequate external cooling when drilling stainless steel or harder ferrous materials to prevent premature edge wear. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace if chipping or dulling is observed, as solid carbide is brittle under lateral load or interrupted cuts.
