The M.A. FORD. 22405900 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production and shop environments. It measures 0.059 inches in diameter with a 118-degree faceted point angle and a bright coating finish. The spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves penetration in hard or abrasive materials. At 40 mm overall length with an 18 mm flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and collet holders with a straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists, toolroom techs, and CNC operators are the typical end users for this style of bit.
This drill bit is suited for close-tolerance drilling operations where dimensional accuracy and tool life matter. The right-hand spiral cut and regular spiral type make it compatible with conventional drilling setups on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power tools. It conforms to DIN 338 specification, making it a recognized standard-geometry replacement in shops that work to metric tooling standards. The 0.059-inch diameter falls within the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch decimal size range. It is sold individually and is appropriate for use on metals, composites, and other materials where solid carbide tooling is specified.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch decimal diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Carbide drill bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be used where side-loading or flex is likely. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when setting up for this diameter.
