The M.A. FORD. 22405110A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. It carries a 1.30 mm diameter, a 118-degree faceted point angle, and an ALtima plus Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. With an overall length of 38.00 mm and a flute length of 16.00 mm, this drill is sized for compact work envelopes. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics on CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This drill is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel, making it suitable for general-purpose production drilling across a wide range of shop and field applications. The two-flute, regular-spiral design provides efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole operations. It conforms to DIN 338 geometry and is manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certification, making it appropriate for applications where dimensional consistency and repeatability are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for Series 224 jobber drills conforming to DIN 338 geometry with a 1.30 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel as designated by material codes K, M, N, and P.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck and verify runout before cycling. De-energize and lock out the machine before changing tooling per applicable machine safety standards. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; apply external coolant or cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to manage heat buildup.
