The M.A. FORD. 20611000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 206 specifications, it features a 0.1100 inch diameter, a 118-degree faceted drill point, and a right-hand spiral flute with web thinning for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank and parallel web configuration contribute to consistent, repeatable performance. At 2 inches overall length with a 0.625 inch flute length, this short-length bit delivers rigidity and accuracy in tight setups. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the typical end users.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel in screw machine, lathe, and CNC machining center applications where short flute length and high rigidity are required. The screw machine length format minimizes deflection on deep-reach setups is not a concern here — the short geometry keeps runout low in high-speed production environments. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coolant-through is not available, as this bit does not include coolant-through capability.
Designed for use in screw machines, CNC machining centers, and toolroom lathes where a 0.1100 inch diameter short-length drill is required. Compatible with standard straight-shank tool holders and drill chucks accepting a 0.1100 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel as specified by the manufacturer.
Install in a precision drill chuck or collet rated for the 0.1100 inch shank diameter and ensure the holding device is clean and free of debris before seating the bit. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before beginning production drilling, as solid carbide tooling is more sensitive to runout than high-speed steel alternatives. De-energize and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Refer to the machine tool manufacturer and applicable ANSI or shop safety standards for speeds, feeds, and safe tool-change procedures.
