The M.A. FORD 20426600 is a jobber length drill bit built from solid carbide for demanding production and precision drilling applications. It measures 0.2660 inches in diameter (Letter H) with a 118-degree, 4-facet point and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces thrust and improves center starting. The overall length is 3.5 inches, the flute length is 2.125 inches, and the straight cylindrical shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 0.2660 inches. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches. The bright, uncoated finish is suited for applications where coating compatibility or re-sharpening cycles matter.
This Series 204 drill bit is rated as a general-purpose tool with primary workpiece suitability for steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The 2-flute, regular spiral design handles a wide range of jobber-length drilling tasks in both CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. It is a right-hand-cut tool with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in moderate-depth applications. Machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and metalworking shops are the typical end users.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length replacement drill bit for applications requiring a 0.2660 inch (Letter H) diameter hole in steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 0.2660 inch straight shank.
This bit is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a drill press, CNC machining center, or compatible hand drill with a collet or chuck rated for the 0.2660 inch straight shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before seating or removing the bit. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so appropriate surface or flood coolant delivery should be set up externally when drilling steel at higher feed rates. Inspect the cutting edges and web before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping from side loading or interrupted cuts.
