The M.A. FORD. 20412000A is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and hard materials. It carries an ALtima aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) coating, which increases surface hardness and heat resistance for extended tool life in demanding applications. The drill measures 0.1200 inches in diameter (wire size 31) with an overall length of 2.25 inches and a flute length of 1.25 inches. The 118-degree, 4-facet point geometry combined with web thinning reduces thrust force at entry and improves centering accuracy. Two regular spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation. This bit is part of M.A. FORD. Series 204 and is manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 certified processes.
This jobber drill is suited for general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Install in a properly sized chuck that matches the 0.1200-inch straight shank diameter and ensure the bit is fully seated before applying power. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel and can chip if subjected to side loading or interrupted cuts without adequate support. Use appropriate cutting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and do not force a chipped or worn bit.
