The M.A. FORD 20035930 is a solid carbide die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding industrial and toolroom applications. Built to DIN standards, it features a 135-degree split point and web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust, improves centering accuracy, and minimizes walking at entry. The straight-flute configuration is suited for short-chip materials. At 0.3594 inches in diameter with a 2.5-inch overall length and a 1-inch flute, this bit delivers the rigidity and thermal resistance that solid carbide construction provides over high-speed steel alternatives. It is intended for use by machinists, toolmakers, and die-shop technicians working with tight-tolerance applications.
This drill bit is rated for holemaking in a wide range of primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary workpiece material compatibility extends to alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, titanium, ceramic, and glass. The straight-flute design makes it particularly effective in materials that produce short, brittle chips. Ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured and that the machine spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before engaging the cut.
