The M.A. FORD 20023430 is a solid carbide die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Built to DIN standards, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and lowers thrust force at entry. The straight-flute geometry and web-thinned point make it well suited for short-hole drilling in hard, abrasive, or difficult-to-machine workpieces. At 0.2344 inches in diameter with a 2-inch overall length and 0.75-inch flute length, this uncoated carbide drill is sized for tight-tolerance die and mold work where dimensional accuracy is critical. Right-hand cutting direction and a 2-flute configuration keep chip evacuation controlled in these applications.
This drill bit is intended for use in cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, hardened materials, and non-ferrous metals. This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians in machine shop environments. Before mounting, confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle. Do not use this bit for interrupted cuts or peck cycles beyond what the machine and workpiece setup can support without inducing vibration or chatter.
