The M.A. FORD. 20018500 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Built to Series 200 specifications, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and lowers thrust force at entry. The uncoated carbide construction delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for high-tolerance drilling applications. With an overall length of 2 inches and a 0.6250-inch flute, this bit is compact and rigid, making it a reliable choice for die and mold work as well as precision machining operations. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
This drill bit is designed for use in holemaking applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, titanium, high temperature alloys, hardened materials, ceramics, and glass. The 0.1850-inch diameter corresponds to a number 13 wire gauge size. Its right-hand cutting direction suits standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. The split point and web-thinned geometry make it particularly effective in hard-to-drill materials where a conventional point would skate or chip.
Designed for holemaking in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, ceramics, glass, hardened materials, high temperature alloys, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer for Series 200 tooling.
This tooling is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual milling machines. Before changing or setting tooling, de-energize the machine and engage all lockout-tagout procedures per applicable safety protocols. Use appropriate collet or chuck with correct shank diameter clearance to avoid runout. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material.
