The M.A. FORD. 20015620 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding industrial and toolroom applications. It measures 5/32 inch (0.1563 inches) in diameter with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and lowers thrust force at entry. Overall length is 2 inches with a flute length of 5/8 inch. The uncoated carbide construction delivers rigidity and edge retention when drilling hard or abrasive materials. Right-hand cutting direction and web-thinned geometry make this bit well-suited for production and maintenance machinists who need repeatable, clean-entry holes in tight-tolerance work.
This drill bit is rated for holemaking in a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, titanium, hardened materials, ceramics, and glass. Its compact 2-inch overall length makes it practical for die work, mold work, and fixture drilling where clearance is limited. The bit conforms to DIN standards and carries a diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches, making it appropriate for close-tolerance hole applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where a 5/32-inch straight-shank carbide drill is required. Compatible with standard 5/32-inch collets and chucks. Rated for cast iron, steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, titanium, ceramics, and glass per manufacturer specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth before operation. Carbide is brittle - avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed rate adjustments, and dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
