The M.A. FORD. 20015400 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision holemaking in demanding materials. It carries a 0.1540-inch diameter, a 135-degree split point for self-centering entry, and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention in applications where high-speed steel would deflect or wear prematurely. At 2 inches overall length with a 0.625-inch flute and a 1.375-inch shank, this is a compact, stiff tool built for tight-tolerance die and mold work. Right-hand cutting direction. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches. Machinists, toolmakers, and die makers working in production and tool-room environments are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for holemaking in cast iron, steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, titanium, high temperature alloys, non-ferrous metals, hardened materials, ceramics, and glass. The straight-flute design is preferred in brittle or difficult-to-chip materials where a standard spiral flute would induce chatter or material pullout. Die drill bits of this type are commonly used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual knee mills where repeatable, precise hole placement in tool steels and exotic alloys is required. Series 200 designation follows DIN standards.

Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the 0.1540-inch diameter before operation. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before drilling, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to side-loading. Do not use in hand-held portable drills; this tool requires a rigid, controlled spindle environment.
