The M.A. FORD 20013600 is a solid carbide, straight-flute die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Sized at 0.1360 inches in diameter (Wire Size No. 29), it features a 135-degree split point that reduces thrust and self-centers on entry, minimizing walking on hard or difficult workpieces. The web-thinned geometry further lowers cutting resistance. With an overall length of 2 inches and a 5/8-inch flute length, this bit is suited for shallow, tight-tolerance holes where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators working in production or job-shop environments.
This drill bit is designed for holemaking in a broad range of primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary material compatibility extends to alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, titanium, ceramic, and glass. Its uncoated solid carbide construction makes it well-suited for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece is a concern or where re-grinding is part of the tooling program. It is manufactured to DIN standards and carries a right-hand cutting direction.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and die-making equipment that accept a 0.1360-inch shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metal, stainless steel, and steel, and secondary materials including alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, ceramic, glass, hardened materials, high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, and titanium.
This drill bit should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not use this bit beyond its rated flute depth or attempt to use it as a reamer or end mill.
