The M.A. FORD. 20012600 is a solid carbide die drill bit engineered for precision holemaking in demanding materials. Featuring a 0.1260-inch diameter, a 135-degree split point, and a web-thinned geometry, this bit reduces thrust load and promotes accurate self-centering at the start of the cut. The straight-flute design is suited to applications where chip evacuation through flute spiraling is not required. With two flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it is sized for toolroom, die, and mold work where tight tolerances and material hardness place high demands on the cutting tool.
This drill is well matched to machining operations involving cast iron, stainless steel, steel, aluminum, alloy tool steel, hardened steel, high-temperature alloys, low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, and austenitic stainless steel. The Series 200 classification places it in M.A. FORD.'s die drill line, which is commonly used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision CNC operators working in job shop and manufacturing environments. Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible collet or drill chuck rated for the 0.1260-inch shank diameter before starting the spindle. Carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping from interrupted cuts or excessive runout — verify runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece. Discontinue use and inspect the bit if chipping, burning, or unusual noise is observed during cutting.
